Starting with Phil Hofmann Travel in 2015, I am passionate about all things travel and love planning trips and learning more about the world. I really enjoy seeing and doing new things and exploring different cultures. I am a keen runner and have competed in many marathons around the world and love exploring new places on foot. I am a keen photographer and when I’m travelling, I love to be up and about for sunrise with my camera. Born in Scotland, I migrated to Australia in 2013 so I'm always busy exploring this part of the world.

• My best travel trip would be to let yourself get lost in cities, leave your watch and maps behind and find your own corners, places and people.
• I travel back and forward to the UK every few years and I would really recommend breaking up the flights with stopovers.

hot picks

• Dubai - my pick here is the Jumeirah Creekside Hotel which is the perfect place to relax and catch up on some sleep. 
• Kuala Lumpur - my pick here is the Traders Hotel. Observing the lights of the glittering Petronas Towers from the cossetted comfort of my air-conditioned room is the best.
