11 October 2026 | Barcelona, Spain

12 October 2026 | Palma (Majorca), Spain

On the one hand, this city, founded by the Romans some 2,100 years ago, is replete with (literally) wall-to-wall history and architectural splendor. You can journey back in time and wander the mazes of alleyways and cobblestone paths that surround the Gothic cathedral. 13 October 2026 | Valencia, Spain

14 October 2026 | Motril, Spain

Motril is a magnificent Spanish gem on the Mediterranean coast. The relaxing sands of Playa de Torrenueva are a great place to spend a sunny day. For some inland exploring, head to the Cueva Del Capitan for a fantastic nature hike. There's also plenty of history waiting to be experienced in the city. Stop by the Santuario de Nuestra Señora de la Cabeza to see a 17th-century church surrounded by incredible panoramic views. Then head to the Pre-industrial Sugar Cane Museum to learn all about the region's staple crop.

15 October 2026 | Gibraltar, Spain

Go to Gibraltar to discover just how impressive rock can be. From the top of the Rock (over 400 metres up), you can admire the view across the Mediterranean and up the peninsula into Spain. Explore St. Michael's Cave, a fascinating cavern once lived in by Neolithic peoples and visited by early Romans. Browse through shops filled with embroidered linens from Madeira or go see to the famed Barbary Apes. Then head to a local pub to grab some traditional fish and chips. If you really want to do as the locals do, order a beer (or two) with your meal.

16 October 2026 | Seville (Cadiz), Spain

Indulge in the culture of Andalusia's capital of Seville and visit its stunning Cathedral, one of the largest in the world. Stop and taste the tapas and smell the orange blossoms during a stroll down the winding Medieval lanes. But be sure you leave time to visit the breathtaking Plaza de Espana.

17 October 2026 | Portimão, Portugal

Located on the sun-kissed coastline of Algarve, Portimão is a colourful city with a bustling waterfront and a charming city centre decorated with parks and plazas. History buff? The Museum of Portimão traces human settlement in the area as far back as the Roman and Islamic periods. And if you want to be one with nature, we recommend taking a scenic boat ride up the coast and along the Rio Arade, where you will enjoy the beautiful views and hidden caves to discover.

18 October 2026 | Lisbon, Portugal

Arrive in Lisbon where you’ll disembark the Norwegian Dawn to then start your guided tour of Portugal and surrounds. 

Pastel and azulejo-clad facades line Lisbon’s narrow streets which ramble across and over its seven hills from St. George Castle to the Tagus River. Gaze over the Portuguese capital’s terracotta rooftops, soaking up its small-town atmosphere before kicking off your adventure later this evening. Tonight you’ll join your Travel Director and fellow travellers for dinner and sample some of the local favourites that you’ll encounter throughout your journey across Portugal. 

19 October 2026 | Lisbon, Portugal

Lisbon sightseeing and free time

Explore the Age of the Discoveries and Portugal’s role as a global maritime power many centuries ago when you join a Local Specialist for a sightseeing tour. See the Hieronymite Monastery and the medieval quarter as well as views of the alabaster-white Belém Tower and the Monument to the Discoveries before taking the rest of the day to explore on your own. Consider joining a Choice Experience to Portugal’s Golden Triangle of Cascais, Estoril and Sintra to see some of the country’s most extravagant palaces during your free afternoon. This evening, perhaps join an optional traditional Portuguese dinner amidst the heart-wrenching, melancholic sounds of the fado.

20 October 2026 | Lisbon, Portugal

Lisbon free day

Que bom! A full free day in Lisboa to explore the enchanting Portuguese capital your way. The secret to living a long life lies in eating a big breakfast, but as you’ll come to discover in Lisbon that may extend to a big lunch and dinner too. Spend the day indulging in a culinary adventure on your own or choose an optional visit to the fishing village of Nazaré, set on a wide bay overlooking the Atlantic. This Choice Experience also includes a visit to Óbidos where you’ll have time to explore the medieval walled city with its whitewashed houses and cobblestone lanes. Aside from its obvious charm and history that pre-dates the founding of Portugal, Óbidos is also home to the delightfully decadent Ginja cherry liqueur served up in tiny chocolate cups. Don’t go home without a taste or two!

22 October 2026 | Lisbon – Tomar – Fátima

Leave Lisbon behind, bound for the Templar city of Tomar for an orientation with your Travel Director, a beautiful reminder of Portuguese Renaissance. Continue to Fátima, a site of a celebrated religious miracle where three young shepherds are said to have seen an apparition of the Virgin Mary in 1917. Explore the Basilica and Sanctuary on your own before dinner at your hotel with your travel companions.

23 October 2026 | Fátima – Coimbra – Porto

Travel to Coimbra to explore the city your way before continuing to Porto. Arrive in time for a sightseeing tour with a Local Specialist of the city’s UNESCO-listed medieval Ribeira Quarter, the port and the remarkable bridges that span the Douro River. 24 October 2026 | Porto, Portugal

Porto free day

Savour a full day to go back in time and explore Porto’s historic centre with its beautiful Baroque facades. You could choose instead to join a Choice Experience to Braga, Portugal’s religious capital. A Local Specialist will reveal insights into Braga’s historic centre and you’ll have an opportunity to see Europe’s largest and most magnificent sculpted Baroque staircase. This evening, an optional cruise along the Douro, followed by a dinner of local specialties, is a fitting way to end your journey through Portugal.
