The first hotel in Waikiki was built in 1901. Today, it is Oahu’s main hotel and resort area with most rooms no more than three blocks back from the beach. A vibrant city, you’ll find bargain shopping in Waikele Premium Outlets, local art and goods in the International Marketplace Waikiki and a lively nightlife and fine dining. Visit the only Royal Palace in the USA – Iolani Palace, the official residence for Hawaii’s last two monarchs before they were overthrown. Visit Chinatown and dine in one of its many delectable restuarants.

The birthplace of surfing, you can learn to ride waves in Waikiki or, for the experienced surfer, catch a big wave at the famed North Shore. No stay on Oahu is complete without a visit to Pearl Harbor. Five historic sites honour the events of that fateful day in December 1941 when Japan launched an aerial attack on Pearl Harbor. See the USS Arizona Memorial where you can learn about the attack, before boarding a boat shuttle out to the haunting floating memorial built over the sunken hull of the battleship, USS Arizona.
