Although smaller than most capital cities, Copenhagen is every bit as busy, modern and cosmopolitan as its counterparts with a delightful blend of old and new. Visit Amalienborg Palace, the official residence of Denmark’s much-loved monarchy. Wander through the museum tracing the history of the Danish Royal Family or tour nearby Rosenberg Castle and see the Crown Jewels.

Wandering through the picturesque city of Copenhagen is like stepping onto the set of an enchanting fairytale. Explore the maze-like streets and cobblestoned alleyways of the city centre on foot or bike, or see the city from a different perspective on a relaxing canal boat tour. Retreat to one of Copenhagen’s many squares and gardens. Visit Rosenborg Garden, which blooms to life in summer with its spectacular flowerbeds. Don’t miss the magical Tivoli Gardens - a spectacle for children and adult’s alike. Copenhagen’s famous amusement park and pleasure garden is the second oldest theme park in the world and features a marvellous mix of rides, performers, attractions and Danish culture. As the sun sets, the park turns on the charm; with glittering lights transforming it into a beautiful setting, perfect for romance.

Sit back and sip on a beer or dine in one of many cosy restaurants and admire the vibrantly coloured buildings reflecting on the water in the pretty harbour side area of Nyhavn. Stroll down Strøget, the world’s longest pedestrian only street and a great place for a spot of shopping, catering to all budgets. Visit the unlikely tourist attraction of Christiania - a commune and self-proclaimed “free city” that has existed since 1971. Of course, no visit to Copenhagen is complete without sighting the Little Mermaid, a well-known homage to the tales of the city’s own Hans Christian Andersen.
