Want to pack like a champion? Read on in our guide, where we’ll bring you 7 hot tips this week. By packing sensibly, you'll be free of hefty bags, and have plenty of space to carry all those super, new must-have purchases.

Pack light to travel light

Try not to pack as though you’re heading off to Mars one-way. Try taking half of the things you need and twice the money. You can make buying a few new items a fun part of your adventure abroad.

If it’s already tight, don’t pack it

If the waist band on those jeans is already proving to be a snug fit, leave them at home. Most people put on a few kilos when on holiday, so those jeans are only going to get tighter!

Pack a sleep mask and ear plugs

These can come in handy on planes, trains, automobiles or in your hotel room, when you want to cut out white noise that you may not be used to (aka 'things that go bump in the night'...)

Bag it

Kitchen sandwich bags are useful for holding small accessories and ensuring things remain dustproof. Vacuum pack bags are great space savers. There are self-roll vacuum bags, and for those that actually need a vacuum cleaner, ask housekeeping if you can pop down to borrow a vacuum cleaner to expel the air!

Crease-free clothing

Hang shirts, pants and easy-crease garments on cheap wire hangers. Sheave in drycleaners plastics and place in suitcase. When you remove the clothes at destination and hang in the wardrobe, there’ll be little to no creasing.

Toiletries

Pack your toiletries bag in a plastic. That way, if any toiletries spring a leak in transit, nothing will secrete into your case and across any of your clothing.

Shoes

Within the cavities of shoes, secrete rolled up socks to make best use of space.
